New ale honours local landmarks milestone anniversaries

Monday 04 October in Community

Two of the Island’s well-known landmarks are celebrating their milestone anniversaries this month. The Bay Hotel has reached its 140th year, with Milner Tower also honouring 150 years since it was built, in memory of William Milner. The Sheffield born safe maker and ‘Godfather of Port Erin’ was behind the construction of many local buildings including the Facon’s Nest, breakwater and cottages which housed poor fisherman. To commemorate these special occasions pub owner and founder of Bushy’s Brewery Martin Brunnschweiler has launched a special a brand-new ale called Milner Tower – he explained more to Islandlife.
