Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation IOM are bringing a production of ‘Abigail’s Party’ to Onchan this October to raise funds for local lung cancer patients and their families.
This iconic play by Mike Leigh, made famous by Alison Steadman, will be performed by a top class cast of local actors including Manx Radio’s Howard Caine as Laurence.
Laura Jones, RCLCF IOM community and events officer said : “We are delighted to bring this show to local theatre goers and supporters. The venue is Onchan Methodist Hall and dates are 14, 15 and 16 October so please come along and support our charity.
“All funds raised will help support local patients and their families and also go towards pioneering research into the disease. Over the last 30 years, RCLCF has funded over £30 million in lung cancer research focusing on two primary areas – early detection of lung cancer and improving the patient experience.”
Laura continued: “This means every research project we fund, every step we take closer to new diagnostic techniques, every life we save is because of the donations we receive from our individual and corporate supporters.”
The venue for the show is very well ventilated and there will be hand sanitisers available. Tickets will also be rolled over to a later date in the event of cancellation. If we are unable to postpone, we can offer supporters a full refund.
Laura concluded: “Audiences are invited to don 70’s attire to get in the mood and will be treated to 70’s music and memories and great acting. To book online https://roycastle.org/events/abigails-party/ or telephone Laura Jones on 07624 331389. Show starts at 7.30pm - hope to see you there!”
