More than 80 women enjoyed champagne and canapes and raised almost £15,000 for an invaluable Island charity.
The Abbey restaurant in Ballasalla was the venue for a Ladies Night in aid of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, sponsored by ZEDRA Isle of Man.
The Douglas-based trust specialist is a regular supporter of the charity which was formed in 2012 and has since raised around £4million towards building and equipping the state-of-the-art breast unit at Noble’s Hospital.
ZEDRA recently participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, most notably by sponsoring a fundraising ball which raised £28,000 and arranging a bake sale which made a further £600.
ZEDRA’S support continued for the Ladies Night where guests enjoyed a champagne and canapes reception, followed by a delicious two course meal before dancing the night away to DJ Matt Fletcher.
With a raffle and auction of jewellery, supported by RHS Jewellers, along with a watch from Dunwell Jewellers, the event raised £14,500 which will be used towards funding additional Mammogram equipment in the dedicated Manx Breast Unit.
ZEDRA Managing Director Joanna Bodell said: ‘The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group is an amazing charity with a fabulous bunch of ladies who are so hard working and committed to the cause. It was again a pleasure to support them for what was a great evening. We are incredibly lucky to have this team raising money which is used on our Island for our Islanders.’
