Sunday 12 September in Community

Code Club, a local charity dedicated to promoting Digital Literacy in the Isle of Man has just announcing two new courses starting this month: Unity for Beginners and Exploring Electronics.

Unity for Beginners

In this Unity for Beginners course, you will learn the fundamental techniques in Unity development. Unity is a powerful and professional cross-platform engine used for game developments, VR experiences and many other applications. This class will run on Saturdays between 4:00pm and 6:00pm starting on the 25th of September.

Exploring Electronics

This STEM course is based around developing circuits using Arduino microcontrollers. The course will focus on using practical applications to explore STEM concepts. This class will run on Fridays between 6:00pm and 8:00pm starting on the 24th of September.

Besides these two courses, Code Club will be continuing their drop-in sessions at Eagle Lab every Saturday between 4:00pm and 6:00pm where there will be a range of activities designed to teach coding skills and explore emerging technologies like 3D printing, Virtual Reality and IoT.

The two courses above are now open for booking through [email protected]. Places are limited, but if there is enough demand additional sessions will be scheduled. The main requirements to join these classes is a desire to learn something new and lots of enthusiasm.

Owen Cutajar, chair of the Code Club committee said "We are delighted to be able to run courses once again and my thanks go out to all the volunteers who make Code Club the success it has become. We've been tremendously lucky to be in a position to make an impact on growing minds and give back to our community."

"Becoming a Charity is a new phase for us", he added. "It enables us to actively fund-raise to help us extend our reach, purchase equipment and make Code Club more sustainable. We're currently looking for corporate sponsors, so if you or our company wants to be part of our journey, please contact me at [email protected]"
