Signing the alphabet with the Manx Deaf Society

Following Rose Ayling-Ellis’s appearance on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, there has been a spike in interest and intrigue in the use of sign language across the British Isles. The deaf EastEnders actress used it to communicate with her professional dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, and to audiences at home while on the show.

Chairwoman of the Manx Deaf Society, Katie Johnson, demonstrated how to sign the alphabet to Islandlife. If you fancy learning something new over the festive season why not give it a try?
