Possibly the biggest local Heavy Metal event that the island has ever seen will be taking place on 28th August in Talons Nightclub, Port Erin.
In memory of his late father, talented songwriter and performer Jamie Blackburn decided to organise a music event like no other. Jamie’s Dad sadly passed away from cancer earlier this year and Jamie wanted to turn a negative thing into a positive thing via the purest form of expression, music!
As 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime and the chances are that, someone we know is affected by cancer this event is being held to try and help! Jamie’s Dad was such a proud supporter so Jamie thought it fitting to put a gig on in his memory and to raise money for a manx cancer charity in the process.
So, on the 28th Aug come and join us at Talons Nightclubs for #heavyasballs to raise money for a worthy cause and to enjoy some manx talent. Five bands are on the bill including Jamie’s band, the Getaways.
All proceeds are going to the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association and tickets for £12 can be bought on the door or from Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/heavy-as-balls-tickets-161372837501.
A big “thank you” goes out to Jamie and the team from all at Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.
All monies raised help to fund cancer research, raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer and help those affected by cancer.
