HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE SPORT?

I went to my cousins birthday party at EVGC and enquired about joining the club, I was 5 years old. I was placed in the artistic development group and started doing 6 hours a week.

WHO INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE UP THE SPORT?

The older gymnasts in the club at the time inspired me to work hard and develop new skills.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR SPORT…

The opportunities and experiences competing at different levels and places around the world.

THE MOST CHALLENGING THING YOU FIND IS…

Balancing school/college work on top of training 23 hours of training per week.  I also need to think about my training programme before any social commitments.

YOUR PROUDEST SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT…

Being selected to compete in the Island Games at the age of 13 in 2017.  I was the youngest athlete competing that year and I was selected to be the Islands water carrier.  Also more recently, I have competed in The British Challenge Cup and came third overall and qualified to attend the British Championship in March 2022.  I am one of the few gymnasts on the Island to achieved this.

YOUR BIGGEST SPORTING INFLUENCE IS…

My coach Valery Molchanov.  I have trained with him since I was 9 years of age.  I probably spend more time with him than I do with my family!  He is very supportive and understanding of me and always encourages me to perform to my best.

YOUR EARLIEST SPORTING MEMORY…

I was 7 years old and my mum took me to watch the British  Gymnastic Championships in Liverpool. This inspired me to work hard and maybe one day I would be able to compete at this level.

YOUR TEAMMATES/COACHES WOULD DESCRIBE YOU AS…

A hard working gymnast who is a committed member to the club and an inspiration to the younger gymnasts.

IN 5 YEARS TIME WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF….

I am currently studying beauty therapy in the Isle of Man College. I would like to pass all my exams and pursue a role in this industry. I would also like to think I will still being involved in gymnastics, possibly coaching and judging.

WHAT IS YOUR MAIN SPORTING GOAL…

To be selected for the Isle of Man Commonwealth Team 2022. I am presently working towards this and I have obtained one of the required scores.

DO YOU HAVE A SECRET PARTY TRICK…

Not really, however my photo of the 3 Legs of Man at the top of Snaefell which was taken towards the end of covid last year became very popular with the Isle of Man public.  It was painted and also used as an album cover.

TOP TIP FOR YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Work hard and when times get difficult don’t give up.

ANY WORDS OF ADVICE FOR ASPIRING ATHLETES…

Follow your dreams, anything is possibly if you put your mind to it.

SUM UP YOUR EXPERIENCE IN 3 WORDS

Challenging, Rewarding, Privileged

DO YOU HAVE A MOTIVATIONAL SONG?

Girl on Fire (Alicia Keys)

IF YOU COULD TRY ANY OTHER SPORT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Horse Riding - my mum use to do horse riding when I was younger and I loved being around the horses and helping.
